If you are getting married and searching reviews for perfect wedding venues in Essex to have your wedding reception, why not take a close look at The Lawn Rochford.
Set in some amazing grounds, this stately home owned by the Keddies family is the perfect venue! It won’t be cheap, you are looking at the ‘high end’ of a wedding budget (unless you go for a Friday, Sunday or midweek deal) The Lawn Rochford is one of the best, and certainly unique. Drive along the main entrance road and your eyes will fix on a beautiful grand building with a circular centre feature flowerbed and driveway. A perfect backdrop for your wedding photographer shots of the bride, groom and wedding limousine. If you visit The Lawn Rochford in the summer you will see a breathtaking display with all the flowers in full bloom. The grounds are very well tended.
The Lawn offers a number of function room areas all within the same venue, all openly interconnected. This offers guests different ways to enjoy the party at their own pace, be it in the middle of the dance floor area or in a side room. The bar at The Lawn is also in a room of it’s own.
Outside to the rear of The Lawn Rochford is a patio and smoking area, with outdoor seating. A huge flower bed and impressive fountain form a central focal point. Fabulous in the summer and offering the best wedding photographer opportunities. The food is cooked to perfection, the evening buffet will delight your guests. A recent extension provides the most beautiful setting for your wedding breakfast.

In summary, a fantastic wedding venue particularly in the summer. Great food too. Check the ‘Off Peak’ rates for hire to compare with those for a Saturday. Due to the layout of the main house, and with the bar in a separate room well away from the dance floor area, it can fragment your party. This can be a plus point though if some of your guests want to get away from the music for a while. Keep that in mind and i’m sure you will have a fantastic day and evening there!
I often DJ at The Lawn, and because I live close to it, can offer you a very competitive wedding disco quote without the high prices! Getting the disco equipment in and out is quite straight forward, and I can also set up early so I am out of your way, not interrupting the wedding breakfast while i’m setting up.

If you are getting married and reviewing perfect wedding venues in Essex to have your wedding reception, why not take a close look at Lords Country Club.
A modern and extremely well designed venue affording panoramic views of a large golf course, Lords Golf & Country Club is unique in this area. It won’t be cheap, you are looking at the ‘high end’ of a wedding budget (unless you go for a Friday, Sunday or midweek deal) however with two different sized function rooms to choose from it may well have a budget to suit all pockets.

It started life as The Hannover Golf Course, and I was their resident DJ for two years, DJ ing for all of their wedding receptions, golf club dinner dance & functions. So I know Lords Golf & Country Club very well. From here I went on to be resident DJ at Quilters (now Ivory Rooms) on every Friday and Sunday night for twelve years!

If you visit Lords Country Club in the warmer months you will enjoy the well apointed outdoor decking area. Seating is very modern, it really has a sophisticated feel. As one of the best wedding venues in Essex it’s extremely photogenic, offering great wedding photographer opportunities at the front as your car draws up in the spacious car park. You have plenty of room to ‘strike a pose’ next to your carriage. Make your way through the luxurious surroundings, and if you venture upstairs you will find a balcony overlooking rolling landscapes of manicured golf course as far as the eye can see.
Lords Country Club is very tastefully decorated, all the bars are in the same room as your function so this prevents your Wedding reception guests becomming fragmented, as the evening entertainment gets under way. The food is superb (I was a guest at a friend’s wedding) and got to enjoy a day and a night at Lords as a guest.

Access for DJ’s to the upstairs function suite is via a lift, or you can keep fit with the stairs. The ground floor suites are accessed from a side entrance, loading in the disco equipment couldn’t be easier.

Lords Country Club Review

In summary, a luxurious wedding venue particularly in the summer. Great food for both the wedding breakfast and the evening buffet, so it’s easy for me to give it a glowing review.

Check the ‘Off Peak’ rates for hire to compare with those for a Saturday. There aren’t any drawbacks, as long as it is within your budget you will have a fabulous wedding reception. 10/10 for me, I love to DJ at Lords!

I’ve been the DJ a number of times at Pontlands Park, and can definately recommend it as a top Wedding Venue in Chelmsford.

The staff are all lovely, and very efficient. The layout of Pontlands Park, and the large marquee make a fabulous venue for a summer wedding. I’ve been the wedding DJ for many functions here, all have been extremely successful.

Pontlands Park Wedding Venue is set in some amazing grounds, and you are sure to get some first class wedding photos. You and your guests will have a very memorable day.
